Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. Guide
Kentucky Peerless: Experience the Revival of a Bourbon Legend Guide
Immerse yourself in the rich tradition of Kentucky bourbon at the Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co., a family-owned distillery that has resurrected a pre-Prohibition legacy. Located in the heart of Louisville's Whiskey Row, Peerless offers a unique opportunity to witness the entire bourbon-making process, from grain to bottle. Discover the passion and craftsmanship that goes into every drop of their award-winning spirits. The original Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. was founded in 1889 by Henry Kraver, quickly gaining a reputation for producing high-quality whiskey. However, like many distilleries, it was forced to close during Prohibition. Over a century later, Kraver's great-grandson, Corky Taylor, revived the family legacy, reopening the distillery in 2015. Today, Peerless is committed to using the same time-honored techniques and high-quality ingredients that made the original distillery so successful. At Kentucky Peerless, you can take a guided tour of the distillery, learning about the history of the brand and the meticulous process of crafting their bourbon and rye whiskey. Witness the mashing, fermentation, distillation, and aging processes firsthand. After the tour, enjoy a tasting of Peerless's award-winning spirits in their elegant tasting room. While Peerless doesn't have a full restaurant, they often offer small bites and snacks to complement their spirits. You can also find a variety of bourbon-themed gifts and souvenirs in their gift shop.
